Hey yall, happy Thanksgiving!

So, I left my baby (07 sv650 naked) outside in the rain last night. This morning I noticed that the display was cloudy. It started by the tachometer, now after work it seems to have moved to the display area right over where the MPH are displayed.

I've ridden it in the rain tons of times, and left it outside in the rain more times than I'd like as well. Never had a problem.

This ever happen to anyone else?

I looked it up online, and it didn't seem like a frequent problem. One guy on a duc said it happens on his monster, but it goes away after a few dry days.

Since I have had my bike it has not happened to me. However, there was water spots on it and where under the glass. I guess it happened with the PO.

I ended up taking it all apart and cleaning it. If you keep having the problem, you could take it apart and use a little seal around it to keep the water out. Just a thought.

As you say, it is not common for the SV gauge to fog up. Has the bike ever been crashed? My guess is the housing might have been compromised somehow, letting a tiny bit of water in.

If the problem persists, I would disassemble the housing (easy, just 5 screws hold it together), and inspect for damage/leak path. The SV gauge has vent holes on the back to allow moisture to escape, you don't want to plug those.

You're right I have crashed it, and the area around the light was scratched, but this is the first time water has gotten in.

I'll take it apart and check it out, thanks for the replies guys.

mine kind of does that too if i leave it in the rain. but everything still works fine
