I'll be purchasing a winter beater in the near future and want to find an insurance company that insures both cars and bikes.
My current motorcycle insurer is riders plus ($1800/year in Ontario).

My renewal is in September and am thinking of not renewing until the beginning of the next riding season and renewing it with a company that combines bike and car insurance...are there any reprocutions from cancelling insurance and renewing it later?
Anyone have any suggestions?

I know for cars, if you have gaps they generally charge you more. However as long as you maintain insurance for the car while your bike is uninsured, I cant imagine it would be a problem.

I know State Farm in VA does not give a discount for motorcycles AND cars. They told me that they are two seperate vehicles, and can't be on the same policy. But it's still very cheap, so I didn't complain.
I'm in Ohio and have both my bike and car with State Farm. :?:

+1 on the potential for a gap in coverage costing you more in the long run. That happened to me once.
