Hi,

Anyone out there willing to give me a walk thru on replacing a clutch cable for second gen SV? Is it something easily done at home or should I have my shop do it?

Thanks,

Leo

It depends on your mechanical skill level. Does the SV650 have a cable or hydraulic setup?

I am not sure. It's a 2003 so my guess is cable? I'd say my mechanical skills are fair, but not great.
Do you have a clutch fluid reservoir? It would be located on the end of the clutch lever.

If you cannot distinguish if it's a cable or hydraulic setup, I would recommend you take it to a shop.

Just looked it up, you have a manual clutch cable. Not a hydraulic system.

OK. Is a manual clutch cable easy to replace?

I think someone needs to make a better clutch adjustment guide :|

I've followed that guide so many times, but I've always had better results when I just improvise and adjust on my own.
