Releasing clutch and getting into 1st gear from stop is choppy/ jumpy and throttle unpredictable. Sometimes it even dies before getting into gear. It's all great after 1st gear.

Sometimes it feels like it's running on only 1 cylinder on 1st, then the other cylinder comes on. Brappp...brapppppppppppp.... brappp...brapppppp. on and off like this. Annoying

Getting into 1st gear seems fine though when I increase the idle-dial to 2,000 rpm parked.

From what I think the cause may be:

Fuel (93 octane)
Chain slack
Air filter
Dirty carbs
carb sync
fuel lines

Going to get these checked out.

Any other ideas?

If it's defiantly a engine miss fire my thoughts are on the fuel sideof things, one carb flooding a little from a dirty needle valve or on the spark side high tension spark plug leads.
But I must say my o2 sv650 has seemed a bit hard to tame off the mark, but, I just changed to a clutch lever with a different ratio giving a lighter feel and slower take up with good success.
