I'll be needing to change out my sprockets and chain soon and my question is: 1)OEM or 2) Aftermarket. If aftermarket, is there a brand that is better/best or is there a brand to stay away from.

I tried doing a quick search of svrider and most of what I've found has been ratios and chain types, eg 520 etc.

If its a street bike, stick to 525.

I'm also a big fan of steel sprockets, and aftermarkets work very well.

Sprocket center or SV racing parts on here are pretty decent. Stick to a rivet master link so you'll need a special tool to rivet if doing it yourself.

Got new sprockets / chain installed today (hopefully it got done, rear sprocket was back ordered). Went with JT sprockets and EK x-ring chain. Not the most expensive, but my mechanic whose been in the trade for 30+ years swears by them.

This is what I got for my bike. I'm happy with this setup. It's been on for almost 11K and I've adjusted the chain ONCE. Since I adjusted it, the slack hasn't changed at all.

The Scottoiler is the main reason the chain hasn't needed to be adjusted much.

The OEM sprockets are nicely made and didn't cost me any more than aftermarket.

Thanks guys, I'll look at sprocketcenter. Those Superlite X-Ring looked decent enough. Especially with sprockets in the kit.
