Don't feel any vibrations when riding, but the rear wheel wasn't balanced when the tire was installed about 2k miles ago.

Could this affect or prematurely wear out the rear sprocket and chain?

I don't think its related either.

Just wondered if a vibration from the rear wheel can affect the contact been the chain and sprocket and increase wear.

no, but mis-alignment of the rear wheel/axle and cause chain/sprocket wear, and rather fast if its out very far

Definitely agree with that. Rear wheel was definitely not misaligned, slack was always in check.

Chain cleaning and lubing wasn't all that great which I know, but was more curious about the imbalance to prevent the new set from having any premature wear.
