Just bought a 01 SV650 it has a Dunlop 208 180x55x17 tire on the rear.
Is it safe?
Am I going to die?

Yeah, that's bad news - 160 is ideal on the stock wheel....I need another 180 rear tire for my F3 wheel and I have a Metzler MEZ1 with ~80% tread left in a 160 series I will trade you. I might even give ya a little cash too if the tire is in good shape :)

PM me if you are interested.

Yes it is the stock wheel 4.5".
Can I use it if I don't corner really fast? Will it come off the rim?

please go down on your right side when you do so I can buy the rear left side cowl if it's already in new condition.

You're not gonna die. I ran one on mine before seeing the light. It makes it corner alot slower, but will not kill you. Alot of people around here run that size no matter what size rim they have, just because there is a track right down the road and take-offs are dirt cheap. After running a regular size, I'll never go back to that big one.
