I just bought a 2001 sv650s and it didnt come with an ownwer's man. I need to do a few basic things to get it running fluid again. When I first rode it, it rode fine, more than fine, but now it stalls really easily and just doesnt seem to be running as smooth. Im sure I need to change my oil, and other things but I dont know where to start or what to do. I dont know anything except how to ride, a little. If anybody could give me any advice or step by step instructions, or at least how much oil the bike needs that would be great. Please Help!!!!

Join up (it's a fairly good site) and download an owner's manual. Download the service manual while you're at it. I don't have mine with me, but I think it's 2.7 quarts with the filter. There is a specific procedure for checking oil level in the owner's manual.

It's actually 2.5 quarts with the filter according to the manual.  ;)
