Anyone have any thoughts-
bikes been cutting at bottom of
steep hills now and then, happened 6-7 times lately,
always down bottom of a steep hill.

Any thoughts appreciated?
My thoughts- tip over sensor acting up?
Me degearing too quickly, doesnt feel like that.

Did gentle de gear still happened once,
or q/s switch -sudden change- g forces?
tricky....efi bike, new plugs, starts well.
Weird. Also revs drop slightly i noticed.

Did research- mainly fuel related-
keep tank pretty full -->

Should i check fuel pump= dirty
its at 29 thou, 13+ years old?
p.s. thanks in advance any ideas,
never take any help for granted here. (y)

Never let tank get below half since i bought bike in May.
Tanks very clean inside.
thought pos fuel pump mesh or inside it,
bet its never serviced.
Nothing was when i got it- guessing.
kinda tricky?
Start with f/p?
be good to know condition anyway yeah?
ive done a lot of mods on this bike, so hoping
it isnt somehthing ive done somehow,

uggh just my luck haha.

Good cos 1 idea/thought can lead to others.^^^ (y)
yep quite steep long hills only.
Right at the bottom.

Process of elimination. No codes on dash.
Must be fuelling somehow?
Il get stuck into it again on wkend.
tank off fuel pump out, eliminate it either way.
Im still learning.
Guess we never know unless we ask,
if some1 else been thru similar?

P.s. luv see more pics u bike btw.

Yes ever since i got it, i oft do inj cleaner
just a little,
its wise preventive on efi bikes+ cars.

It cut yesterday level road,
may have to remove fuel pump.
Going to service it anyway,
cos im "bike" curious lol.

Only the bike tho lol.....

Gotta look/know 2 eliminate.

Took iridiums out 2 x cr8e in now.
Reading your opinion, had strong gut feeling ->
bikes running a tad lean?

Love to hear what you think re colour
front rear plugs

Got to thank you. = :)(y):):)

Knew theyd be light- not dark-troubling me
since i installed- back of mind gut feeling.

They dont look awful, bit on the lean side what?

Upped fuel map bit on the Jetprime thingo in case.
Got no 1 to help with this, big learning curve for me.

But you guys here.....thank God. :)x:cool:=:cool:/:cool:

They look fine. With E5 and E10 fuel being cleaner plug colour is no longer the best indication of fuelling state anymore.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube about cleaning Motorcycle fuel pumps.

Did the Motorcycle do this before you made any of your mods ?

No dont think so, seems to be always happening when i dont engine brake but go from say 5-4-3 holding clutch lever in. I usually de gear in sequence engine brake now n then forget.
Also revs seem to drop below 1350 to around 1000 i noticed.

Icv? Iat? No codes. Intermittent.

I feel like its me, somehow disturbed something etc done so much to it. Not that worried running b8fully with bit fuel added and sparks changed anyway.
Glad there gone.
Sounds evwn better.
I dont think serious. Just annoying. Its purring like a kitten.

Appreciated,
david.

Given the nature of the problem, would it be fair to assume, that this is not likely to be anything mechanical, in the engine itself? This is likely to be an issue with the fuel, or the electrical system.

If you've been working on the bike recently, I would re-trace my steps and check any fuel lines, or electrical connectors that you may have disturbed. Perhaps, disconnect and re-connect any electrical connectors and maybe give them a squirt with some switch/contact cleaner.

Open the air box, lift out the filter and check the action of the throttle butterfly valves - make sure they're not doing anything odd.

That's all I can think of, for now.

Intermittent gremlins, are really annoying, and can be tricky to track down. :(

Thats sage & prudent advice.(y)

Il spend a weekend pull it donw & look.
Not the engine,
everyhting there sounds really good.
Motors been fully serviced, 2 oil changes since May.
I did oil again when i put new clutch slipper in etc.

Think its a small issue ive cause by all the tinkering.
Its nice to know i have some support here.
:)
Even psychologically.(y)

Lot of electonics on it now.
New battery. Hoses are old, petrol overflow was split leaking i replaced,
found rubber boot below one of
intake plenums- vac nipple leaking fiuxed it, but no.
Crankcase hose off airbox, not that, fixed.

Gremlin lol.

i did it to myself- like usual..........:cry:
Oh well could be worse.

The eternal tinkerer.
All i can do is be humble & laugh at myself.
Im such a moron sometimes.
But a kind hearted one at least lol.

If you can replicate the fault and then also throttle and gear so it doesn't happen between the two it may lead you to the cause.

General page,

and check the WSM troubleshooting section as well.

Thats a good read, has to be idle speed control valve,?
or fuel pump id guess.
Theres an idle speed control valve sensor yes?
Il have to find out why idle is dropping in neutral with lever in
but not neutral between 1-2 @ gearbox.

May be worth doing the checks with healtechh sds tool &
throttle balance anyway.
Ill keep thinking researching and riding.

Thanks again, it helps.(y):)

See, sometimes I have to hold my jokes with certain people. Some people have a better sense of humor than others. I like this quote.

'Literal minded' people have ruined comedy by failing to understand 'metaphor, irony and exaggeration' and missing the punchline, John Cleese has claimed.

Also, Graham Chapman was the Best King Ever.
Correct 100%
Ive learnt to laugh at myself and the absurdity if people and life.
Its grounding and brings joy whats wrong with that?
The Viking were known for there cheerful dispositions even when captured and facing the headlop theyd make jokes and carry on acc to records.

Its keeps life joyful and us young.
The older i grow the more absurd worlds getting.

G1 i luv it. What lifes all about.

@jeff762

No i didnt,
dont trust myself that much anymore.....
kickstand either. :cautious: Especially kickstand switch.

Idles right rpm in neutral at gearbox "neutral", select.
Cut cuts here and there when downshifting from say 6 or 5-2nd
holding clutch lever in etc? the rpm drops to 1000,
Without engine braking in between etc?

Hope im explaining it right.

Yeah wondered that too but theoretically it shouldnt. Had long ride yesterday didnt happen, i degeared every shift in case. Still noticed revs drop.
Just a bit more careful is why.

im thinking a hose from throttle nody avac hose or tsps maybe/
Its nit a major hassle but annoying.
Its a sign of somehthing not right but not major.

Pretty sure not lever switch as i put a new clutch perch
on and it wouldnt start when i forgot to plug it in etc.

I appreciate the help and thoughts spurs me along to persist.

Yep im.keeping revs up a little stop it happening may be a vac breather from throttle body a guess. I

Il get tank off on wkend and go thru it carefully inspecting all i can.

Other then that the bike is hammering
now its a real hoon of a thing its making me reckless when i twist throttle.
Its 73hp stock. Id guess closer to 80 now.

Im a little worried loosing license.

Thank you to all the kindly gentlemen that came here
in this topic to assist me with this!

It may seem a trifle to you lot but to me its gracious
good will a generous spirit and most kind.

I replaced the two rubber boots on the throttle body nipples that are used to check throttle balance,
as i noticed the other day one was leaking air,
it had a drizzle of oil on it from me spraying some rp7 style
stuff to stop the rust that destroys everything here i live
between the ocean and the beach, only kilometres away either side of me.

Both nipples were leaking i found out,
i have had one short ride
yesterday briefly,
but guess what,

the idle didnt seem to be dropping as much as before???

I wonder if it was just both those nipples were leaking air
out causing it to under idle??

Il do a longer ride soon, to ascertain if this is correct but x fingers thats solved it,
if so i am stoked beyond words.

I treasure this motorcyle more then money it
saved my life during being extremely ill on deaths door
recently and gave me
distraction,
brain storming, problem solving
and took my mind of the fact i could have been
dying, or close to it!
In and out of hospital & also
under immense family stress at the same time as
dealing with this chronic illness.

So u get why im fastidious and have so much
joy time money and love for it you guys.

Kindest respect and regards always
from david the death
defier lol.

I have put some weight on finally and feel better now,
more optomistic, more emotionally balanced, calm, happy & contented.
not 100% but much better. Grateful just to still be alive.

Bless you all gentlemen.
