Ive noticed an odd thing happening with my bike after I go over some of the bigger bumped on the highway. My bike will loose power, back fire, then go normally. I checked the wires on the battery terminal, they're tight, i cant think of anything else to look at.

something is loose.... electrical

A friend of mine with a TLR had similar symptoms, turned out, that when he had the tail apart to install a fenter eliminator &hugger, his fuel pump relay got loosened from it's vibration isolator, the relay would bounce around over bumps and affect the fuel pump..... you posted in the 1st gen tech section so I assume you have a 1st gen SV, so I know that a fuel pump relay not sitting its vibration isolator is not your problem, but may help you logicly trace your problem
