Wise Eyes Alert

Traffic Fatality

At 6:16 AM, Monday, May 4, 2009, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was notified of a motor vehicle accident in the 3600 block of Hwy. 174 South of Cleburne, near B & B RV and south of CR 1205. Johnson County Deputies have advised investigation of the accident revealed a red 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle being driven by an 18 year old W/M was involved in the accident. The driver of the motorcycle did not survive the accident.

Deputies further advised a witness to the accident stated the driver of the motorcycle was southbound on 174 attempting to pass a tractor trailer and lost control of the motorcycle, sliding on the pavement in the northbound lane. A Dodge pickup, dark colored, possibly red, traveling northbound, is believed to have struck the motorcyclist but did not remain at the scene until emergency responders arrived. The Dodge pickup is reported to have damage to the rear quarter panel.

It is unknown if the Dodge Pickup travels Hwy 174 regularly, but it is a possibility. For this reason investigators are asking residents of Johnson County to watch for a vehicle matching the description of the Dodge Pickup reported to be involved in this fatality accident. Anyone with information about this accident or the Dodge pickup is asked to contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center at 817.556.6060.
