Are they negotiating on the price for the new 2023 SV650 models?

Just curious. What has been your experience buying in the US? And other countries. For a while there, vehicles were in short supply.

Suzuki UK have dropped price by £500 ($620) and offered 2 years free servicing (worth £800/$1000) and 3 years warranty (I'm unsure whether you get the service and the warranty or pick one though).
Here in (at least my part of) the US it's full MSRP plus whatever fees the particular stealership decides to tack on. Bikes in general are more available than the were a year or so ago, but some models are still far from plentiful. Last time I was online perusing bikes, the nearest SV was over in Oklahoma around 120 miles away. That doesn't give you much bargaining power.
I'll guess it depends where you are to some extent. A big motorcycle market like Los Angeles will probably have more bikes for sale and better prices than BFE way out in the sticks. :)

IIRC there was no extra dealer profit fee on mine last July at the dealer in Brea, CA. Just the usual setup fee, taxes and crapola. Was $9200 or $9300 OTD. I did do a trade in to muddy the waters.
Got mine down to $6499. Tax and fees $7800 or so OTD. DAMN fees…

No pops. Today is not Tuesday and you are not 26 anymore.

Kidding aside, that sounds like a great deal! Well done. Where was this?

Ridenow here in Vegas.
I just bought a new '23 in Bucharest, Romania. There was no negotiating, except for free delivery, about 140 miles. Total price was $7755. RJ
Most places around here won’t negotiate, but for maybe $100 or so here and there. It helps if you haven’t locked yourself in on buying a specific bike, so they have ’competition’.

I always see advertisements for this place.
Here in New Zealand where we normally get ripped for anything like this, our usual retail price is NZ$12,000 on the road cost (US$7300 or UK 5900 pounds). However currently you can buy either a full power or restricted power (LAMS) version for NZ$10.500 on the road (US$6400 or UK 5160 pounds) when a new Honda Hornet 750 is NZ$16,500 on the road. Obviously, I got the SV and no regrets at all. Fantastic bike.

Suzuki had a $9K new promo deal three years ago when I got my Gen 3. Was too hard to resist!

I paid full retail for my non ABS SV650 a few days ago, in the D/FW area (Texas). It was the only new SV650 within 145 miles, and that one 145 miles from me was at another RideNow, also asking full retail.

That's interesting. Those NZ prices I mentioned above were for the ABS version (compulsory now for all new bikes) and included NZ$500 on-road charges. It's exceedingly rare for anything to be cheaper here in NZ than in USA/UK. Even our lamb, wine and cheese that we export, are often cheaper when sold there, than on our own domestic market, crazy as it seems.

The lamb wine cheese thing does seem a bit crazy. Overseas shipping is not cheap. Too bad you can't buy local and save. I suppose on the import side they tell you, shipping is not cheap. :cautious:

Ive found converting between currencies using the exchange rate calculator is not a very good 'real world' indicator of the cost of something. There's so many other cost of living factors that have to be taken into account.
Picked up a SV650 ABS in Sydney, paid full price AUD$10990, dealer had a full power version in stock, advertised for 2023, when I received the registration paper, it actually showed it's a 2022 made. Apart from that, I am very happy with it.

Can't you go back and ask for some compensation? I have to imagine this is a reportable offense.
Maybe it a 2023 model built in late 2022? I don't think there is much difference.
I don't think dealerships make much profit from new bikes. What they want is to establish a relationship with you so that they can make money from servicing, tires, etc.
