I have the Traction grips installed on my R6 tube. IMO, it is easier to install them on the R6 tube because it is smooth. You do have to remove the grip from the Buell tube that comes with it.

The stock SV tube has a bunch of ridges (protrusions) on it designed to keep the grip in place. These will make it close to impossible to mount the large traction grips.

Things to remember:

1) You will need to cut the ends off the closed Traction grips. Use a fresh/new razor.
2) The R6 tube is shorter than the stock tube, so you may have to cut off more material.

Good luck.

Im also curious about the traction pad!

I have these on my buell and really liked them.

Stock buell grips were miserably thin, these work very well. Nice and thick. Not super soft like a gel pad but soft enough and a great shape.

They arent cheap though, and now I am going to have to buy them again when all I need is the clutch grip (trying out some pro taper carmichael bars).

Just saw the note about buying them, if they are still available and priced cheaper then I can get them online or locally, Ill take them.
