been listening for a few years, he is seriously funny. used to ride bikes almost exclusively when he was younger, has some good stories. brags about how he has to be the only guy ever to have had a motorcycle towed 3 times. not sure why he doesn't ride anymore. haven't listened to this one yet, but i'm sure its good.

I heard him on the radio not long ago, it was like Jerry Sienfeld but 20x's more emo...he was occasionally funny on the man show, about once a week he'd get a good joke in.

Yeah, I heard the same thing. Apparently it's nixed for now.

BUT did you see the other hosts? So Adam Carolla is a pretty legit car guy, but then there's Eric Stromer, who is freaking Trading Spaces or some crap. Who knows, he may know a thing or two about cars. Then there's this Tanner Faust character, who is of all things a Formula D drift racer.

Drifting pisses me off.

oh geez, you're one of those? lets not get into that, here's a good brief on tanner faust

http://jalopnik.com/396266/who-is-tanner-foust

as with most pro drifters, he is reasonably accomplished in other motorsports as well. stromer is a buddy of adam's, and he is funny and smart. maybe not the best name for the show, but a good character.

Yes, I am absolutely one of those. Does drifting require amazing skill? Of course. Could I do better? Hell no. Are most drifters (and Tanner Faust, a rally driver as well) good at other motorsports stuff too? Probably.

But, all that doesn't mean I have to like it. It's like the Beegees or something - I can appreciate skill, but don't run home to fire up one of their records.

But yeah. I don't suppose it will matter, the show is put on hold for now I think.

I listen on occasion on my way into work. Used to listen to love line when I worked nights, he made the show. Yesterday he was going through the craigslist adds and talking to some woman who was selling graduation caps, then the guy who sells p0rn tapes. funny shtuff.

Do you remember the deal Sirius negotiated with him? Once you hear the figure, you'll want to punch a baby knowing how much he gets paid to spew crap.

Stern himself may not be a standup, but he put together a good crew and made a good show. Back when Billy West, Jokie and the rest were there, it was awesome. But the show stopped being interesting around/just before the time of Stern's divorce. His Sirius show is downright vulgar and insulting. And I have spindles upon spindles of CDR disks of old shows.

He seems tired, disinterested and mildly depressed. Too many sessions with the psychologist. Robin' laugh is out of control; she yeps at anything and it is overtly fake and forced.

So you might have missed the boat :p

Not at all, he's had some great guests during the years since he's been on sirius. People like Jimmy Kimmel, Donald Trump, Paul McCartney, Chris Cornell, Benicio Del Toro, Pete Wentz, a huge number of musical talents and many many others. Personally, I think he's better than ever...and I've been listening on and off since the early 90s. I'm not a huge fan of the porn stuff or the naked girl stuff but his celebrity interviews and his social commentary is definitely interesting IMO.

I listen on and off and I have been a sirius subscriber for a few years now because of Howard Stern. If it weren't for him I would cancel my subscription today.
