Hello. I've found a lot information here about shock swap on sv650, but does someone know would it be the same for sv400?

If the suspenions are the same, my 2nd question would be this:
can I take a penske 8983 from some othe model (for ex. honda 600rr)? does they have the same mount?
thanks

i dont think a Hondas shock mount is the same as an Sv 400,

where ya from?
we don't see 400's on this side of the pond........got a pic?

sure. but later.

i'm from russia. sv400 here is more popular than in usa.

my question was more about this:

Q. Can I have my shock changed to fit another model bike?
A.Yes, we can exchange parts to modify your shock absorber to fit another model. Please note that service fees, as well as the cost of additional parts are applicable.

does it mean than I can buy any penske 8983 from any moto and order some mount datails to fit on my sv?

Yes. But that gets expensive. Your best bet would be to look for an actual SV650 shock (pretty sure they share most all of the SV400 parts, could be wrong), or a GSXR shock. The main issue with the other shocks is that you must get the height changed internally, resprung, and then revalved.
