. . . do you believe in the theory of threes ?

Today, traveling on Tustin Avenue City of Orange, CA:

1. Three Lanes each way with a transition lane in the middle. I'm in the rightmost. Guy in white SUV enters the street on the left cuts across all three opposing direction lanes, crosses the transition lane, cuts across the two lanes to my left and proceeds to almost wipe me out as he tries to enter my lane. Hard braking and heavy horn work plus his realizing that he's about to get sued by my wife save me.

2. About a block later, taxi driver is in a fast food driveway on my right. He backs his taxi into my lane so he can get around a car in front of him that's lined up for the drive-through. . . Once again heavy braking and horn save me. . . (well, actually, heavy braking saved me. . horn just made me feel like it would help).

3. About a block later, woman in a maroon PT Cruiser that's been kind of trailing me / driving alongside of me the entire time through all of this decides she is going to have her turn at me and proceeds to change lanes into me. Horn and quick pop on the throttle got me out.

Should have stayed out of that lane in the first place. . . . .stupid me.

I almost never ride in the far most right lane. Too easy for people to pull out infront of me. It's either the left or middle.

+1to the laying it over comment,beat me to it. i can never find the horn during most stuff like that,sometimes if i want to honk at some ******* i catch myself going for the starter button,not good, guess i'm a righty on the horn in my sheet metal box.

When riding in any traffic, I always cover the horn button. Just something I always do. I've preempted several cars from "drifting" into my lane be being hasty on the horn but most of the time, I try and stay out of that spot.

I'm from LA but moved to OC for school this past year. I've noticed over here people drive noticeably faster because the streets are so god dang smooth and wide.

I was just talking to my friends about how awesome it would be if they made a new Road Rash game! I'm about to get a sv next week and we were talking about my defensive driving plan which included an extendable baton... just in case.

I already know I'm gonna spend a lot of time on these forums.
