A petition against the Stimulus package. As of this post, over 436,000 Americans have signed it.

Sign it, then tell a friend. Please?

I signed it already. Also phoned and e-mailed both my Senators and my Congressman, expressing my opposition.

No matter how much crazy, conspiracy-theorist, far-fetched, unbelievable and clearly fabricated material you post(which, I agree with some of the things you bring up, FYI), that makes you cool.
I only post the truth. ;D
An internet petition...aight good luck with that.
Well, you got a better idea?

This would be the best thing to do. But the web petition won't hurt either.

Yes, I'm going to eat some ben and jerrys.
Go to www.house.gov and www.senate.gov to get your Congressman and Senators contact info and web sites. Most have web-based forms that enable you to send e-mail messages to them.

Better hurry, the House is expected to vote on the compromise version of the stimulus bill on Friday, with the Senate set to vote on it Friday evening or Saturday.
You people just HATE America, don't you?
I mean this is HOPE & CHANGE!
Why do you hate America so?
They are going to "create" 3.5 million jobs with only spending 875 billion dollars.....that's only $250,000 per job.........Oh wait...never mind! :D
You do realize that online petitions are meaningless right?

Yes. But I signed it anyway. :p

Ice cream does sound good right now. :D

I'm not signing it. ;D
I'm not signing it. ;D
Why do you "hate" your children so to leave this much debt for them to repay? :p
I'm against it but signing that is useless. Unless you miraculously got 3/4 of the population to sign it, nobody cares. Half a million sigs so far sounds like a lot but that's what .002% of the population? There are far more people out there looking for that free ride.
ya had to go and inject some reality, didn't ya? Party pooper. ;D
Its a drop in the bucket. I email my reps regularly...to the point that I have gotten letters in the mail from them, telling me how they feel on the subject.
I was just hoping maybe some of you in the "I'm opposed but won't do anything crowd" might do this, since it takes 5 seconds, then feel good about yourself and go on to be just an tiny bit more active...

But whatever, just sit back and watch your country get ******. :happy1:

This makes me sad.

It's a total waste of time though. Nobody with any ability to change things ever pays any attention to online petitions...and rightfully so.

If you're a representative from Kentucky and 50,000 people from Florida call you and tell you how they think you should vote is that really going to affect your vote at all? Now if 50,000 people from your district call you and tell you how they think you should vote I think you might take that into consideration.

Write your politicians or call them but giving your name and email address out to some website isn't going to do a darned thing. Hell, you don't even have to be from this country to sign an online petition opposing this bill. You might as well write your opinion on a sheet of paper, seal it in a bottle and toss it in the ocean hoping that it will reach your representatives. That's about how effective online petitions are.
