Its a drop in the bucket. I email my reps regularly...to the point that I have gotten letters in the mail from them, telling me how they feel on the subject.
I was just hoping maybe some of you in the "I'm opposed but won't do anything crowd" might do this, since it takes 5 seconds, then feel good about yourself and go on to be just an tiny bit more active...
But whatever, just sit back and watch your country get ******. :happy1:
This makes me sad.
It's a total waste of time though. Nobody with any ability to change things ever pays any attention to online petitions...and rightfully so.
If you're a representative from Kentucky and 50,000 people from Florida call you and tell you how they think you should vote is that really going to affect your vote at all? Now if 50,000 people from your district call you and tell you how they think you should vote I think you might take that into consideration.
Write your politicians or call them but giving your name and email address out to some website isn't going to do a darned thing. Hell, you don't even have to be from this country to sign an online petition opposing this bill. You might as well write your opinion on a sheet of paper, seal it in a bottle and toss it in the ocean hoping that it will reach your representatives. That's about how effective online petitions are.
