I was teaching a buddy of mine how to ride this weekend and he dropped the bike. The damage: a broken shifter pedal (just the tip) and even more scratches.

To give you some background this is my '02 SVS, soon to be track bike. I am now looking for a replacement and was considering getting some aftermarket (Woodcraft?) shifter/rearsets. My questions are:

What is the point of these $$$ rearsets? Adjustability for riding position?

What exactly do I need to buy? I was looking at this website: http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=12814
and it looks like the rearsets with pedals is $329.99. Seems kind of pricey. Can I just get the shifter pedal (will it fit the OEM rearsets?)

Thanks

More ground clearance and durability is the point. These rearsets are not adjustable, but most people don't want/need adjustability, just higher pegs for more ground clearance.

All parts are interchangeable with OEM. Pretty sure you'll need their brake pressure switch if you want your rear brake to activate your brake light.

Another big plus is that you can replace the individual pieces if needed.
