1-19-23 Glued the left footpeg back on...

I left the brake go above the footpeg because the brake pedal has tension on it. Will snap the footpeg off again.

1-20-23 As I was moving the Sportster model I knocked the kickstart pedal off!

And glued the handlebars back on.

Putting the front end together is going to be a problem. There isn't anything there to connect the fork together? The top portion of the fork moves like it has suspension; the boots go over the fork but how to connect the wheel?

1-23--23 I will glue the forks tomorrow, leaving the boots off to see if it will stay together. Otherwise I may have to MacGyver it, kinda have an idea but let's see if the glue holds first!

1-24-23 Was going to take the bike out and was going to maybe jumpstart it...

I need to charge battery overnight and clean the ground terminal!

Bikes are out of the garage for family time later today! I will ride the SV tomorrow and the next day...

1-25-23 Nice out today, I put the battery in my SV and everything turns on, then I press the start button and - nothing?!

Meanwhile, well gluing just the forks doesn't work on the Sportster model, I already broke off the other pieces that I glued on again so forget that!

So I bought Aluminum tubing to MacGyver the forks together. The left lower is wider than the right lower, so i will get the next size up (1/4") so it will slip over all the original fork tubes. And they have stainless steel, I should get that instead! May have to buy that online if Ace Hardware can't get it for me.

And carb on the Sportster is not working properly. I bought 2 cheap used Bendix carbs on eBay, one came in the mail today. My plan is to hopefully make one working carburetor for it!

And I have to figure out why my SV isn't starting!

1-26-23 Went out to figure out my SV and why no start...

Have to replace the button switch! I used a screwdriver to make the connection and bike started, Yay!

I found something online on the Home Depot website, so I bought it for pickup at store!

I also bought the stainless-steel tubing online for the model. I forgot that you measure tubing from the outer diameter.

1-31-23 The tubing came in this morning...

Great packaging job!

Cut two pieces and stuck it together to see how it looks, will glue it or Play Doh it together later.

2-1-23 Went for a little ride this morning, still waiting for the start button from Home Depot.

I put some Play Doh in the fork tubing and stuck the fork together. And I put glue on the top of the fork.

2-2-23 I am finished with the Sportster model...

Had to drill, grind and file the part that holds the button for the new one!

Painted the button holder.

Letting the paint dry overnight, so I will put it together tomorrow!

2-3-23 Time to install the start button...

The curved needle-nose pliers come in handy!

Decided to reglue the kickstart pedal on the Sportster model again for the second time.

2-4-23 Noticed the rear brake lever came off the drum, glued that now I am done!

2-5-23 Went on eBay and was looking for Franklin Mint Harley Davidson motorcycles, and I found this...

They made a 1971 FX Boat Tail Motorcycle! I missed the bidding on one, but found this and has the original packaging as well! He had a set price and we countered back and forth and I got it!
