2nd gen rear axle removal

last few times i adjusted my chain i only had a 12 point socket to fit the rear axle nut, and of course, its chewing it up. since i'm going to be removing it again for my sprocket swap, i decided its time to buy a 6 point socket. but i cant for the life of me remember if it is a 23 or 24mm socket i need. and i dont want to spring for a whole large socket set. i'm cheap, sue me.

i know, i know, but i searched google, checked the FAQ's, got nothing. and its all the way downstairs in the garage (cold) and i dont want to use up a cotter pin just to take it off for an accurate fit test.

besides, thats what the board is for right?

Oh BTW! I went out a while back and bought a set of deep well impact sockets at Harbor Freight for something like $10 on sale. So if you have HF near by that's the type of thing they are good for.

harbor freight has some really good deals on tools right now. i'd pick some up right now if i knew i needed anything.
