Hi!

I am pretty new to the forum, so if this is a repeat thread I apologize.

I am having Gear issues with my suzuki and it is looking like I need to tear downt he engine. Something definately broke in there.

The question I have, is what are the exact specialty tools I need to take the engin out.
I know I will need a 30 mm Spanner for the swingarm. I was going to go ahead and buy one, but then I noticed a kit with 3 different size spanner type sockets. So, I became a little reluctant to buy as the price went from 50 for ther 1 tool, to 150 for the kit!

So, what exactly do I need to take this engineout of the bike?

any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Kurt

You don't need a swingarm tool to take out the engine.

You just need the tools for the locknuts on the engine mounts. Should be 3 nuts on the left side of the engine.

If you have an angle grinder or dremel and some patience, you can make these yourself by buying the correct size socket, and cutting out the edges. It's been done before on the forums, search it.

i searched around the forums and the thread I found said I could modify a 27 mm socket, and a 14mm socket. Is this correct?

If that is correct, I will get on that today!
