Hello everyone I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone could post some input on my question. I own a 2002 sv650s and when I start it and go to throw the choke on it instantly stalls. the rpms sit slightly below 1 even when warmed up. It seems as if it does not want to hold the idle. So I am thinking about adjusting the idle and setting it to slightly above 1.

My question is, is there a correct way of doing this to pin point the correct idle?
I do not own a manual and also have a couple pictures of what I assume to be the idle adjusting screw.
What would the ideal idle be at?

Thank you for your help.
I am hoping to get this done soon as I am very anal when things are not working correctly :)

Thats the idle adjuster turn it clockwise up to 1300 to 1400 rpm after the engine is warm.

Just be aware that it's highly likely that you're treating a symptom, not the root cause. Your carbs are probably somewhat gunked up and need to be cleaned.
The idle circuit has very small holes and so it's the first to be affected.
