Does anyone know the name of this part and can it be bought separately? It goes on the left side of the handlebar piece that the clutch lever mounts to?

Clutch safety switch? Came from the clutch perch mount?
You may be able to order it somehow but my guts say no. But dont trust this i have never replaced one. Only the whole mount for clutch lever.
You removed it from the handlebar perch yes?
Any way you can get it working again?
Some folks disable the safety switch on the clutch.
Is that button on top if so yes its the switch.
Hope this helps.

It's the clutch interlock switch, it makes you pull the lever to be able to start the bike. Yes, they are available separately.
As a temporary measure the two wires that were plugged in can be shorted together but the interlock circuit will be disabled so make sure you're in neutral before starting.
I think it's a 37560-38A00-000 but check before you buy. In the UK it's insanely expensive but there are pattern parts available on ebay for much less money.

Entropy, do I just put one end of the wire in one side of the switch and the other end of the wire in the other side of the switch?
