I roadrace and SV and would like a throttle that requires less grip rotation from 0 to 100% throttle.

yeah I am bad with fractions.....its a quicker turn though
Geeze, I didn't realize the R6 mod was that easy for us 1st gen'rs.
I believe the r6 throttle is a 1/4 turn, I haven't heard of a 1/5 turn throttle being used on the SV.
R6 is a 1/5 turn (72 degrees) and the stock SV tube is 1/4 turn (90 degrees).

I stand corrected, please disregard.
ooops! i did the cutaway on my 1st gen. whatever. works great:D wonder if it would work better if i had left it alone.
works great on a TL too
Yessir, 2003ish Yamaha R6 throttle tube is your friend. Under $10, easy to install, great results.
I ordered mine yesterday :)
I've installed a R6 throttle mod on my bike and it was straight forward and had no problems.
HRC makes a 1/6 turn throttle
yeah. but is it $10 and will it fit my SV?

yeah i was gonna say the last time i checked my stock 1gen was 1/4turn if i remember correctly.
What year is this exactly. I know I could just use the Ron Ayers part number, but I like to keep my business local. Anyone know the year?
The R6 throttle tube is a great mod, and the only hard part is getting the cables into it, and that just takes patience and a little dexterity with some plyers. Only thing is, I could imagine a track bike could benefit from an even more aggresive throttle, but I cannot speak from experiance so I will let the more wisened people discuss that.

Part number 5SL-26240-01-00
They are from a 2003 R6 but when you search Ron Ayers the site says it's on several yamaha's.
It's probably cheaper to just purchase it from a local dealer if there's one near you. Most will probably order it to the store free of charge.
