Just got my 07 gsxr600/750 shock. bolts right in with no cutting as it has the 90 degree resevior like the 07 zx10 shocks, but I picked mine up for 15 bucks and they are ALL OVER EBAY.

Only problem is its 10mm shorter than stock so you need roughly 25 mm raising links to achieve stock height.

These are not soft like most gsxr shocks either, 9.4 kg/mm, 525 pounds.

Do you have this shock too?

Discussed a 100x...using a shorter than stock shock messes with the cushion lever action ratio's and where in the throw the shock is. Talk to RichDesmond he can explain this far better than I.

Bottom line, if you want an improvement over stock thats easy, this a great way to do it. If you want a proper setup, a re-worked gsxr shock of the same length as stock, or better yet an actual aftermarket unit is required (penske, ohlins etc).

Pretty much you get what you pay for. I have the same shock on my bike, in general you need the raising links to get back to stock height, then take most if not all of the preload out of the gsxr shock. Tune from there, ride safe and enjoy:thumbsup:

Edit - I do plan to upgrade again to a proper penske or similar setup someday. But for now the pogo stick is gone and im happy

Of course it is going to mess with the geometry somewhat, its not a penske or ohlins designed for the sv650; still huge improvment over stock.

Basically once its tuned right for your weight, its gonna do a pretty good job keeping your tires on the pavment and the ass end from bouncing around.

I dont plan on racing, so I dont see myself ever coughin up the change for a penske (overkill imo, for my riding style)

Yes if you want to maintain as close to stock geometry as possible. I personally chose 40 mm raisng links so even with the shock my tail is slightly higher than stock which makes the bike turn in easier, but without steerin dampers I expect some extra tank slap at higher speeds.
