bandit and sv are brand new both to be had for about $7K
the 03 FZ1 is about $4K with 28K miles on the odo

so which one would you choose for 2 up riding? possibly long days 2up riding.

I can tell you, with a not so light wife..not as light as I would like her to be anyway, and my not so light self...the Sv1K has no issue moving us around.

They will all serve 2-up duty well. The Bandit has the best rear seat, in my opinion.

Do you want to buy new? If yes, I'd go with the Bandit. I'd buy one if I had the $!

Sv and Bandit are both leftovers - brand new. I know they all won't have a problem accelerating, the comfort is the main thing. I want this bike to be our vehicle for roadtrips in the summer - not a car and for that my gf has to be comfortable.

I'd buy the new Bandit. You can write off the tax you pay on it next year and it'll be plenty powerful/comfortable. Plus, there's as much as (if not larger) following than SVs.

I'm in the same boat looking for a sport tourer, or hyper tourer. The FZ1 has the best motor of the bunch, with the Bandit a close second. The FZ1 feels alot lighter than the Bandit, but I would rank it below the Bandit for two up comfort.

Another option to throw in the mix, is the Honda Blackbird. Same seat comfort as the Bandit, Full faired from the factory, and better fit and finish to me. But if you are shopping new, the Bandit is the way to go. The 1250 is a pretty sweet ride.

The Bandit would have more torque for the two up thing. The wife and I sat on a first generation FZ1 that felt really comfy, and my wife said it was much more comfortable than anything we've sat on, including the Kawasaki Concours. We really need to ride it to get a true opinion, but the FZ1 sure felt good.

Hubby has an FZ1 that I've thought about riding behind him on. I don't normally ride 2 up with anyone so I'm biased somewhat. I don't think I'd want to sit on the bike as high up as I'd be when I'd be behind him. It doesn't look comfortable to me at all.

A former co-worker of mine rides a Bandit 1200 mostly as a commuter. However, he often takes his wife on long weekend road trips and says it's the best for riding 2-up.

I've been on the back of an FZ1, and it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't want to spend all day there.
