Hey,
I was recently in a slight accident and ended up damaging the left side of my ?05 SV650s. I?ve got almost everything fixed (front fender, pegs, slight body work) the only thing I have left to fix is my gearshift, which was torn off during the accident. Just curious if anyone knows where I could get one (factor or aftermarket) or if anyone knows someone who?s selling one. Also what?s a good site for aftermarket parts?

What broke and where? If it is just missing the toe-peg, you can improvise pretty easily. Send me email if you need pics of how to do it.

Yes, improvising is very easy. If it is just the toe peg that is. I have broke my three times. the first two times I replaced it with another factory peice which I ordered from the dealership. However, if it is the toe piece, take the shifter off, make sure you cont the number of threads showing so that you don't mess with your linkage. Drill a hole where the peg was originally, and put a 1 1/2 bolt through it. Screw a lock washeron the bolt before you put it through the hole you drilled. Then put it through the hole, and put another lock washer on and tighten it. works great, and is much stronger then the factory one.

Basically it was just the toe peg that broke off. I ordered a new one from oneida but if it ever happens again I think I'm going to have to improvise and fix it the cheap way. Thanks for the help and links!

also check ebay you can probably find what your looking for cheaper then most places...

When my wife broke hers off I just got a piece of aluminum round bar and welded it on to where it broke off. Of course if you don't have a welder that does aluminum than just take it to a shop. They'll charge you around 5 bucks to weld it back on.

I have a couple of pounds of AlumAloy rod that I use just for this purpose.
Works good enough for levers and non-frame stuff.
