I think he actually thought that it was okay the way it was.. I had it for 15 minutes and figured out it was a mess, his wife road it for a whole season like this.
Either that, or he was looking for a way out of a bad marriage!

Glad it worked out for you. Please encourage the seller to part out the bike rather than try to palm it off on another trusting soul.

Guy will be giving me my $700 back since I have bike and he'll want to try and sell it to someone else...
I am mechanically inclined problem was I already made a hefty downpayment and actually believed that the motor was done professionally and even thought of making brackets to secure the mounts... Interesting first experience buying a used motorcycle! Man that coulda been a nice bike, anyone got a 1st gen sv650 for sale? Must have engine bolted to all mounts!;D

Seriously, if he tries to sell that thing again, you should stalk him on craigslist or ebay and totally ruin any potential sale. That thing is death on wheels. Motorcycles are dangerous enough without some hack F---ing things up that bad.

we should all do this. just keep flagging it or something. nobody deserves to end up with a bike like that.

Wow! Do you think if you informed ebay of this bike they would keep him from being able to sell it on their site or maybe force him to add some imortant detail. Like the motor may fall out of bike causing serious injury or death....buyer beware!

most likely not. the OP should leave feedback on ebay saying not to buy the bike.

Didn't go through ebay. What do you think it's worth as a parts bike? the $700 he's gotta get back to me? I don't think I would want it for anything but the protek billet pieces, pipe, passenger seat cover, corbin seat, maybe tires.. is there a market for the hyosung engine?

Wow that thing has pretty much a totaled frame on it and the guy wants to sell it again Wonder if there is anyway to inform the police, so they would have it on file just incase some unlucky kid does die on it they would know why.

No, it isn't worth it in parts right now. Get ALL your money back as soon as possible. Some diligent member on here will then inform us of future dealings this guy tries to have.

Seriously, don't even consider keeping any portion of this bike unless he gives you the whole thing for free.

Even if you get all of your money back, ebay should be contacted and feedback left for the sale that item was not as described, mint means the frame is not junk and unsafe.

I've reported things on ebay before. As far as I can tell, ebay doesn't give a **** unless the media or the police become involved.

You're mechanically inclined yet you didn't notice something odd about that? If it was professsionally done with a replacement oem suzuki motor, why would they need to fab special mounts?

I'm glad you got your money back from that *******. I wouldn't just let it go. Ruin him and make sure he doesn't try selling that dangerous contraption to someone else.

"ruining him" is way more effort then its worth, the bike is worth what he's asking in parts, forks, wheels, radiator the hyosung motor if it works would probably sell for a few hundy on e-bay, swing arm, seat, rearsets etc, but he should be selling it as so...

It has a hyosung motor and what might as well be a totalled frame. I don't see the rest adding up to $3,000
where did you get 3k? he paid 700 for it

EDIT: or did he get 700 back...im confused now

You sent him money via paypal and gave him a check or cash upon delivery?

I'd tell that dude you have a $20 check for him just so you can find his real name. Then turn his ass over to the police or the local prosecutor thats up for re-election.

I have his name, address, etc.. (listed # :)) He called paypal and pushed through my canceled payment which I promptly disputed, awaiting a refund. Unfortunately he thinks he has my money now and will not answer my phone calls. He's trying to force this sale on me. I don't want the headache of court but I would pay a lawyer 4K just to see his pathological lying face in ruins. I see no upstanding law-abiding individual that would side with this headcase.

And thanks to all you guys for the support ...even the tough kind.

I have to ask, when you took posession of the bike, did the seller give you a "bill of sale"

if so, what were the terms "as is / as seen", was there any mention of warranties ?

depending, you could be screwed, and still legally owe him the rest of the money

I did not get a bill of sale but I do have a signed statement saying he received $700 towards payment for the bike. I think I mentioned before I said flat out to him several times that I will have a shop look the bike over and if they don't say what you are saying then we're talking a refund. He agreed.
