Did you buy it new? The dealer should have wrote the key code on either a reciept or you papers you recieved from him.

If not, you can't just call a dealer and have them make one, you will have to remove your ignition and bring it in to a locksmith and they will make a mold. Atleast that is what I had to do here.

I don't think so. If it's like other bikes I've had, you need to get the key code off of the bike somewhere. Sometimes it's on the seat lock inside. You can usually find a way to get the seat to unlatch with a hangar.

Someone should have better suggestions.

I did this with my Ninja 250. Had to cut the helmet lock off, get the key code of the back, and a locksmith cut a key off of that #.

Wasn't there a thread just like this one within the last month? I believe there was also a solution, or two. Use the search, Luke.

It may o rmay not be the case that the key code is under the gas cap. I'm not sure of this or that unscrewing the bolts that hold on the cap will allow the cap to be removed. I'd start there or the seat latch if possible. Take either one to a locksmith, good luck.

I am pretty sure its on the underside of the ignition. Pull the ignition off and there you go.

1) Use the advice just given to get a new one

2) Go to Ace Hardware and have them cut you one or two duplicates. *Keep one at home and one at work, or wherever is convenient.

I highly recommend (2) to anyone that doesn't have a spare. *
