So trying to use the wiring diagram that comes with the manual is a pain in the ass. It is on two different pages and all lines are hard to follow. Compound that with me being bored today and I now present you with the wiring diagram for a naked 03.
Here is a small version
The link to the gigantic version in pdf format is here. You can download it from that link or just use it on the web. Just as a warning, the pdf is huge (2500x1500 px)
Also, I had to use the color Magenta for white. Splices are marked with a Red X. Let me know what you think.
I don't think you can save without signing up. Its free and doesn't take to long. If you don't want to, send me a pm with your email address and I will send it to you direct.
I am not real sure about what you are asking. I am not trying to accomplish anything, other than maybe save some people a bit of a headache with the normal wiring diagram.
oh i see, i thought you were trying to figure something out with using the diagram and asking help to interpret
guess not though, but thanks for posting it
nice work Patrick!
Maybe now I can figure out what wire it was that I tapped into for my driving lights. It was some wire that was marked "SPARE" under the passenger pillion.
It underneath the inline image. Here it is again though. You do have to sign up to download it, which is a bummer, but I don't know of any free image hosting that allows images that big.
Thanks Patric!
It's so much easier to read with color. There is one small error in the ignition switch diagram of this schematic. This error exists in the official Suzuki manual also, but not on all schematic versions.
With ignition switch in the "ON" position:
Diagram shows: (R<->O) and (O/Y<->Br) <-wrong
Should show: (R <-> O <-> O/Y <-> Br) <-correct
In other words, all four wires (R,O,O/Y,Br) should connect together when the switch is in the "ON" position.
Thanks Patric!

Patrick, were you able to confirm that the wire marked "B/O" coming off Ignition Coil #2 joins with the wire "O/W" that comes off the kill switch and starter button and Ignition Coil #1?
Yeah, tbolt did a great job adding color, and thanks PatrickE for posting it up.
You can always do a search to find this stuff, but I think it's good when folks post useful info like this from time to time.
Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately), engineers are never satisfied with anything, and have to keep modifying the design. There are 14 different versions of the SV650 schematic in the back of the Suzuki Factory Service Manual, Rev August 2008, and this is only the Gen2 manual.
2003 through 2006 schematics are fairly similar. The **** really hit the fan in 2007. Starting in 2007 the the ECU is way different, along with the fuel injection, dual spark, and more EPA emission crap. Even the fuse box got modified. ABS also came in 2007 and added lots more wiring.
On the plus side, lighting and charging system wires and colors are basically the same through the years. With a 2006, unless you really have to dig into the wiring, you're probably OK with this diagram.
flash2pass much better system - with autoswitch you still need to intergrate a remote.
For $30 more you can get a complete flash2pass kit with transmitter/receiver (no need to use remote) and additional $30 for each extra transmitter for other bikes or autos.
I have one full kit plus three extra transmitters to cover my three bikes and one of the cars (no more remote clipped on the visor)
Far superior system to autoswitch in my opinion.
So for anyone still reading this thread, now that I have an 07+ plus service manual complete with wiring diagrams, which diagram should I color? The options are N or S and ABS or non ABS.

I am looking at the main light on the wire diagram and I can not find the wires for the "parking light" I am going back to the single headlight setting after having modded it for dual headlights, and now I can not remeber what I did with the connector for the little halogen bulb (parking light) I can't seem to find it on my loom, so I might have cut it off... although I don't see why because it can just be unplugged, and when I first did the conversion I did not bother with it in the first place.
Can somebody remind me where it is or how it is connected? if not I'll just leave it out, it is not like I ever use it.

For E02, E19 naked it is indeed Brown & Black/White off main harness
(Brown is tied to the Brown wire from the Ignition Switch)
For E03 there is NO parking (position) light at the front.
I have not checked which E number it is, but the connector plugg is there on my original headlight, so I must have cut of the other end on the loom, I will just have to find the cables and solder them. Thanks for helping me what colour to look for, I can barely remember what I did when installing the twin lights lol.
oh thats cool man, sorry it says under my avatar, I took it for granted, you don't have to scan it just for me unless you want to, It's my bad that i did not take a note of what I did with that connector, its just that I normally don't cut things off unless I absolutley have to, just becasue I like to keep my options open incase I ever change my mind.
Is Front parking light required legally in Sweden?
Rear position light is necessary of course, but at front you don't even see it is on, when riding with headlight anyway - and I have personally never ever used the parking position of the ignition which is only time that light would be visible (but not sure if this is requirement that you do this in Sweden, when parked on street at night).
If it's not legal requirement just ignore the front position light.
As far as I know D'Ecosse it's not a legal requirement, but I have never had my bike looked at by the authorties here in Sweden. I never use it either, only once by acident and nearly had my batteries drained, I think it's a pointless invention. I probably will ignore it, but that is one problem I have, I hate leaving things half done and if it is there I feel like a compulsion to have it connected, I know its stupid, but trust me I aint going to start ripping open the wiring loom just to find the wires if they are not easily found.
