Here is a handsome and interesting bike.






Its an Aermacchi Harley Davidson (usually a push rod) single, that has been punched out to 500cc and uses a Ducati bevel drive, OHC arrangement. Trick!

RD, I'll ask because I don't know the answer. See that one piece that starts from the peg and goes to the chain? Is that just a guide or is that something that keeps tension on the chain? If it keeps tension, is there something available for our bikes that are similiar?

Its a tensioner ... I know that someone makes a universal tensioner which might work on SVs.

I will look for the link and post it later

A tensioner would have a lot more value on a bike like that Aermacchi than an SV, because the swinger on that Aermacchi is so short. The SV should undergo much smaller changes in chain tension as the rear suspension moves through its range.

did anyone notice the exhaust is on the oppposite side of the bike on both views. Two different bikes ? The swingarm geomotry is way off . If it has any power , on / off throttle would upset the suspension. Just my two cents. Cool bike though ! Fuel injected too.

Now I want to go beat up my friend that sold a mint RD350 for $800 and then told me he was looking to sell it after he did it! AWWWWWWWH! Oh well, maybe I can get the SV looking a little retro..
