Starter wiring help

So during some repair work, I removed my starter wire and forgot to take pictures before hand and I'm having trouble figuring out the wiring.

This is the wire in question. I know one end goes to the starter itself. The other I can't remember. I know it's supposed to go to the 30a relay but that already has two wires on the relay.

Re: Starter wiring help

the relay has a large red and black wire. the red on the left the black on the right. there is also a large black wire with a smaller white wire attached they go to the battery.

So the thicker black wire with the smaller wire goes the the battery along with the the two wires off the relay?

Re: Starter wiring help

from what i could see the relay has two large wires in the front a red and black. they're secured with nuts. in the back of the relay the wires are plugged in smaller dia. like 16 or 18 guage. which according the a wireing diagram one goes to the ignitor and the other might go to safety switches

Re: Starter wiring help

Wire you holding is Negative/Ground. End with square connector and smaller wire goes direct to battery negative. Other end of that wire goes to engine bolt, down under the rear exhaust header.
Wires with coil plastic wrapped around are Red and positive. One goes from relay direct to battery and other one goes from relay to starter motor.

Ok, that makes sense. I thought that may have been the case because that wire wouldn't reach from the starter to the battery.
