Gear indicator options

Hey everyone, I am new to this forum and just got myself a sv650. I was wondering if anyone knew of any options for gear indicators that would work on a 2000 model? Also any upgrades worth getting done since it is stock? The advice and knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks and safe riding!!

Re: Gear indicator options

Here is one you may want to take a look at: https://www.solomotoparts.com/HealTe...r-SV650-99-02/

i personally just rely on the RPMS & Speedo to let me know if I'm in 6th gear.

Re: Gear indicator options

When I got my 1999 SV650 Curvy I too thought it would be nice to have a gear indicator. However after a few weeks I didn't care as I soon got used to the revs to what gear I was in.

For example if I'm @ 70 mph and in 6th my revs are around 4800/5000 rpm so there's like a 2000 Rpm difference.

i'm old enough that my first motorcycles didn't even have Rev counters<grin> you soon learn to feel the engine/s.

My 2 cents

Thanks gents. I appreciate the info and advice. I guess my issue really was finding neutral on the bike. It give issues getting in neutral or moving up into any gear at red lights or stop signs. I have to ride on first and then gear up. What do you guys think about this issue? Is it a issue? I know that I it’s better to ride in first then shift up but I thought it might be a concern that I can’t shift if I wanted to.

Re: Gear indicator options

I just installed a Gipro with smart TRE on my 03 . Super easy .
My bike is a track bike and wanted to be sure at a glance I was in desired gear for each corner.

Read this page.

You most likely won't have to service the lifter but it will help if you do but see this link as it's important ,

I hope this isn’t asking much but do you by chance have a YouTube link for this particular installation? It would be extremely appropriate

I also use the healtech. Great product and works in standard or GP shift flawlessly
