Best handlebar setup for comfort...

Hi
I have a 2008 sv650n. The previous owner put on clip on bars and I donít find it a comfortable ride position. Iím looking for advice on the best style of handle bars and riser height, etc is best to get the bike to have an upright position.

Thank,

Hi SV650N-lz, Welcome to SVR.

I have a 2007 naked SV and I put 1" risers on - it made it just right for me!

Not sure if they are still available, good luck!

Some people put on different handlebars too.

One brand is Bikemaster.

There are threads in here to search about changing handlebars...

Stock bars and 1" risers. No extra parts required. Maybe some rerouting though.

Re: Best handlebar setup for comfort...

Bikemaster Daytona will get you up to a near fully upright position without risers needed. You will however need to cut off about 1in on each side of the bars or the throttle cable will bind at full lock. Simple to do with a cheap pipe cutter.

I used them one season but then switched to the slightly lower Bikemaster Superbike bars. I prefer them for aerodynamic reasons and they fit the character of the bike better. AFAIK these are some of the most popular after-market bars for our model. They have much less pullback than the stock bars (3in vs 7.5in) so unless you have very narrow shoulders you'll sit more relaxed.
