It's a copy of the Suzuki tool. I got 2 blocks of aluminum, milled 2 edges flat, then drilled, tapped and bolted them together. Then turned it on a lathe with a 4-jaw chuck to have in ID of 46.5mm. The OD is not important but mine is 81mm. It's 25mm thick.

With the bearings shells installed in the tool:

Pressing the bearing through the tool into the engine case. I also turned the pushing tool.
Be careful to align the joints in the two bearing shells to the marks on the engine case !!!

Thumbs up Re: SV650 Motor Tear down

Nice thread!

Is there another thread on how the get the most HP out of this motor? Like where to get pistons, cams, boring done etc...

I want to get a bit more oomph out of the DL. Cams and pistons are milder compared to the Gladius/SV motor.

If you want more power and reliability you're going to have to upgrade the crank.

Re: SV650 Motor Tear down

Nice write up OP. I am actually going to do mine this weekend, I have a 2001 Suzuki SV650. I'm going to have to rebuild my engine most likely because some how my SV chugged two quarts of oil in two weeks and I rode it while it was low. It's not leaking oil but even though it turns on and runs, its starting to make a weird like clicking/rattling noise intermittently. After 5k-6k rpm it makes an annoying rattling sound. I feel bad for my baby. I hope it is nothing too major, motor swap is the last thing on my mind.

WORD OF ADVICE: Always check your oil before you ride.
