Well, if you do come to Toronto, the beers are on me.

Regarding the wheels, I think they are the last of the Comstars. Quite a contrast to the first attempts which I reckon were as ugly as sin. Incidentally, what kinda funny feeling did you get?
I very much doubt that those are comstars, although I agree they're similar. I have a complicated love/hate relationship with comstars - I think that they're ugly but they're so distinctive and so tied up with the Honda brand from that era that I find them kind of compelling.

So some wheels like that which evoke the image of comstars but that look 100x better would be worth thinking about for my CB project.

Here's a CB750 with a Ti 4-into-4 exhaust:

No a carrier isn't a solution 'cause old mate doesn't want to pack all the bits up, apparently they're strewn from arsehole to breakfast across his backyard. My mechanic (for complicated engine work) is 4 hours away - each way.

True, but I already have two project bikes (a Harley and a Suzuki), my SV that I ride, and will be picking up a donor CM400 soon that needs a ring job...the missus doesn't know about this one yet...She'd kill me if I took off to get yet ANOTHER bike to make the already cramped garage even tighter...

Comstars.

Well I'm throwing the gauntlet down. The first slab of beer is riding on this. Are they Comstars or not? Open to all.

Despite grizzling about where Honda went with wheels thereafter, I have to pull my head in a bit. The SOHC above is wearing the next gen. and I really like them.

Nice to know that you-overseas types know the meaning of that word; bugger that is. Over here kids use the word. Toyota used it in a tele commercial. Grown men are commonly heard to say "Bugger me". We Aussies use the word all day long without knowing what it means. I love swearing, but there is a limit.

WTF is a "slab" of beer? Is that anything like a flat?

Anyhow, we have our answer!

They're Astralites. Supposedly still being made, even.
