MOTOR FLUSH
![]() I first started the bike on original oil, using EFI can, just enough to warm it up and drain it. I left original filter in and re filled with Rotella T5. Rode like that for few tanks to pass 600 mile mark. Big day today, done with first phase break in, I can move past 6k RPM. Time for Full oil change with T6 and OEM filter. ![]() No debris on magnet trap and brand new looking oil. All good sign. Examined oil filters, look like mama-suzi wants filter wrench tight. Didn't have proper size socket wrench to tighten it so I just wrestled it in old fashion way. Jaw filter works great on removing old filter but doesn't for tightening. Started the bike and sensed that it likes T6. ![]() Took it for a spin, seems smoother on T6 and shifts better :-) never used that stuff before.... EDITed after few rides: together with clutch seal job much smoother tranny and gear change.

DELIVERY PIPE LEAK
Removed tank to fit fuel filter. Found old line problem: ![]() Replacement hose and clamps below radiator hose ![]() Must remove delivery pipe for hose removal. Impact screewdriver is a must tool for carb jobs. Do not wait till you bugger a screw, hit it at first sign of resistance.... ![]() All done, recommend to replace injectors o ring and seat at the same time ![]()

FUEL FILTER INSTAL
downstream hose routing: ![]() ![]() I am happy with the routing, no hose kinks, no pinch points. Upstream from filter routing is straight forward. Run at idle for a while w/o leaks. Took bike for a spin. Ran great. Will test it for some time before declare full victory.

Re: 2006 SV1000S 289 Actual Miles
Big weekend, one year bike anniversary and review.
I got the bike year ago and happen I needed new tire and oil change. Bike has 3600 miles. Killed original Michelin about week ago. I had Shinko Raven 09 alredy waiting but bike stands and spools were on order. short story I didn't get rear sland on time and I had to improvise with stuff laying around in the garage. Worked so well I do not need stinking stand anymore. Removed the wheel and let local shop change the rubber. It was 29 dolars , but after seeing 4 of them fighting the tire for one hour I feel money was well spent. Cleaned and lubricated chain drive and cleaned and lubed rear caliper. Some with axle spacers and adjuster plates....
