KNOCK

ok so yesterday i start to get a little knock at idle....bike runs great without any engine knok when im on the gas but when i let off or am at idle every once in a while it knocks, or backfires...i cant tell.......anyway i change the spark plug in the back cylinder...it was a wreck...pitch plack and not a lot of gap...i was unable to get to the front one....dang radiator anyway...is the plug why its knocking i mean im not losing any power or anything...its just annoying..... oh i also have a shorty exhuast and very little packing......am i just hearing engine backfire? anyfeed back would be great!!! so long as it constructive and/or informative

Re: KNOCK

If that's you on your SV in your avatar.....well.... do a search of oil starvation in the front cylinder and you may find your answer.

Re: KNOCK

Like one of your past threads had suggested - You can stunt an sv but you shouldn't. If it's something new it's obviously not normal. I know you've had past threads about stunting your bike so you know the opinions. Good luck and I hope your SV makes it.

Re: KNOCK

Maybe you should just overfill your overfill and then keep stunting. Your engine is dying.

Re: KNOCK

We all don't know what we are talking about.

You know what you are doing.

Have at it.

BTW, if you do decide to part out the bike, you now have enough posts to sell the other parts in our marketplace forums.

Re: KNOCK

that doesnt really answer my question.....compression and all thats fine.... just had a mechanic look at all that so its all square....im just wondering what the sound is and/or what is cuasing it....actualy something specific...like a spark plug, not something so broad as 'stunting is cuasing it' yea i understand...big woop anything can be fixed...so how about an explanation please?
