any pictoral how-tos on cutting down a factory exhaust can?

i'm using the search utils, but it's tedious...if anyone knows of a thread or website w/ useful info, please post!

great tip...unfortunately the OEM can isnt riveted...makes it more complex.

guess i'll have to work w/ my neighbor to TIG the shortened can back together.

That is not what he is asking for, "Cutting Down" the can (ie SHORTENING)

..and yes you can make it into a rivet job by fabricating a barrel sleeve that you can make from a piece of the the cut out section. It would fit inside the can and the lip of your new endcap. You will have two rows of rivets. Stagger them it would look cool. in the old site there were pics, but i think they are lost.

Yes it is. If you go to page 3 of the link I provided, there is a step-by-step account of cutting down a stock can. There also are photo links that may work
