Can a gen3 engine in gen2 frame be done?

Just curious. As I keep upgrading and modifying my 2006 gen2, I wonder how long it can go, and if I'll be able to find a good engine in 5 years or whatever.

Has anyone tried this?

My 05 has 60k miles and is still going strong. 100k is not unheard of--that's my goal. If I can't find a used gen 2 motor, I'll consider rebuilding mine or getting a new bike. By then, she won't owe me anything.

yes a 3g motor will go in. and you can still run your own ecu (just dont run the 2nd set of plugs)

My K6 has done 135,000 miles, doesn’t use any oil, is quiet and runs really well. Just keep changing the oil and filter frequently and regularly and your bike should last a long time.
