Recommended hand guards for SV650 2017

Hi,

I've been wanting to install handguards on my new SV650.

I want to go with the Barkbusters brand.

Anyone had any experience with them?

What I fail to understand is that how come the manafactur state that they are not crash protected.

I mean, the only choice I have ,aacording to them, is to install a single point hand guards which I don't like.

Did anyone had an expreince in insalling them or other brand and can recommend?

I have the Givi guards that are made for the bike. I wouldn't trust them much in a crash, but they do provide good protection from insects, rocks and debris that get's thrown up from cars in front of me. Nice on cold mornings too.

I don't know if these would work on a 2017 but think they should or if you would like them but they are dead cheap to try and ditch if you don't like.

8.90 UK pounds.

they took a while to get here from Hong Kong in the UK but keep the wind and debris off my hands and better for cold riding as per other post.

Why do you want Barkbusters brand?

https://fastwayperformance.com/hand-guards.html I really like those.

First, you'll need to measure the spacing of the bolts that clamp the handlebars down.

Then, email them with that info to see if they have your size.

If they do, and if you want ones that'll be effective in a crash, I'd also recommend replacing your handlebars with aluminum ones and tapping the ends for the inserts they have available instead of using the expanding inserts.

Re: Recommended hand guards for SV650 2017

I have barkbusters. They came with the bike from its previous owner, but I have to mount them upside down since I went to SM2 bars. I assume they wouldn't hold up well in a crash, but they do help block the wind. I put them and a Givi windscreen on my bike for winter riding.

The GIVI's are no longer made for the 2016+.
