Question Triple clamp quandary

I was looking for a triple clamp stem for my 08 abs for a handlebar conversion. I notice that in the Suzuki parts micro-fiche that the ABS model uses a different lower: 51410-17G80 rather than the Non-ABS: 51410-17G00.

Does anyone know the difference? I suspect they are of very slightly different lengths. I thought I'd ask here because, I think the mechanics at my dealership would draw a blank, or simply say "oh, yeah. You need that one...".

Re: Triple clamp quandary

The lower triple on the ABS has different mounting points for the brake lines and sensor wires. I believe the geometry is the same, but I'll check.

Re: Triple clamp quandary

OK thanks. I knew the wheelbase is slightly longer on ABS models and was worried the frame geometry might be different by half a degree, but more likely it's just a longer swingarm.

Re: Triple clamp quandary

An ABS chain is 4-6 links longer, so the front is probably tucked in a little.
The S is 108, N is 110, ABS is 114. That would vary the wheelbase by 2-3 inches if all the steering stems had identical geometry.
