That's the technique I like best, too - but you don't have to pull the chainguard to do it. Just do it along the bottom instead of the top. I find it easier to check the alignment that way because...

Previous owner could have put different weight oil in the 2 forks to tune the damping. Or just topped up one fork with a different brand after doing something like replacing fork seals.

Those grip warmers should not draw enough current to pull down your voltage like that. I doubt your battery is the issue - I think you want to put a good MOSFET R/R on there.

Today was the kind of day the bike and I have both been needing for a loooooooong time:

1. Soldered the tach signal wire on my Veypor - it's been intermittent, hopefully this fixes it.
