Re: What did you do to your SV today

Broke out the toothbrush & kerosene and gave the chain a much needed scrub down. Lubed it and then went for a ride. Came back an hour later, just before the skies opened!

Re: What did you do to your SV today

They should really go back to hunting down rapists and murderers, instead of embarrassing themselves in front of citizens!

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Interesting that they ran your bike to 5000 rpm.... did they not believe you when you said you're bike is a V-twin? Gonna have to go tomorrow to see if my silencer-strangled RS3's pass this...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Partly recovered from yesterday's 700 km day trip to Three Hills to see a classic car show, steak dinner in Drumheller, and then back to Edmonton. Heading into and out of the valley around...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Well, it wasn't so much for the bike as it is for the rider...

Ordered my Knox Contour back protector from Blair so that it's here well before track school in May. Woohoo!

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Went for a 60 mile ride today. Glad to see my thermostat replacement resulted in no more coolant leaks!

Also did a lot of practice throttle-blipping while downshifting under braking. Was...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Changed coolant and thermostat, washed, waxed, cleaned and lubed chain, installed EvoTech fork sliders.

It took a few seconds to write that, but all day to do. First time doing a coolant flush,...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Discovered that my bike is afflicted with the infamous SV1K thermostat housing problem. I must have aggravated a marginal t-stat gasket when I snugged up the coolant hose clamps the other day. Off...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Tightened up all the hose clamps around the thermostat housing and topped up the coolant bottle. I must have spilled a little bit, because for the first 20 minutes of today's ride I kept smelling...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

The K&N with the socket head on it is worth the money in so many cases! I use them a lot on my cars and sure beats using a filter strap.

Re: What did you do to your SV today

If you don't have the tool, the key to any method involving puncturing the oil filter is to then use a hammer or mallet to tap it loose (unless you already tried that). If you apply steady torque...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Yes! I successfully got past the planning and acquisition phase and got through the intallation of an Evotech fender eliminator kit. Best part of having done it before is that everything comes...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

I couldn't stand my guilt anymore, so I finally put the SV on stands, filled the tank with stabilized gas and then ran it till it was through a couple of heat cycles. Switch off, put some rags in...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Installed my Evotech swingarm spools today. Got the Evotech fender eliminator fitted with LED signal lights and should be able to pull the tail plastics off tomorrow. Also have FP Racing shorties...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Getting down to -12 C before the snow fell and I had to call it quits. The visor on my EXO-700 was flawless, but my d*mned glasses would fog. Oh that's about 10 F.

Oh well, just a couple more...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Left it in the garage. After riding nearly everyday so far this month the snow finally came. There's a good inch of the stuff all over the road and the car tracks are already icing up. I've got a...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Oil and filter change yesterday. The SV got its first transfusion of Rotella 5W40 full synthetic. Much nicer start ups on 20 F mornings and the engine revs up nicer when at temp. The old 15W40...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Cleaned and lubed chain, cleaned wheels (were so gross after riding through the rain!), did an oil change, cleaned under the tail, frame and engine. Went for a ride!

Re: What did you do to your SV today

It was actually yesterday, but I mounted my new Two Brothers Titanium M2 slip-on. Oh, and rode up and down the street (industrial area after work, don't worry LOL) with no muffler. Wow, didn't...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Did an oil and filter change - and then took it for a ride! Man o' man synthetic really did *feel* smoother and the engine seemed revvier with full synth compared to the Suzuki regular 10w40 *runs...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Put on some Motrax CF bar ends, and had to mill down the bottoms of them so they butted up properly against the helibars. Actually really like them as they have genuine CF bands around them. Pretty...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Gave the SV some love after riding it in rain the last few days. Wash followed by serious wax and buff, polished all the shiny stainless with autosol, cleaned and lubed the chain, and even put on...
