Re: GSXR front end swap on '08 SV w/ ABS

[QUOTE=sevin;5335935] I also noticed a rather disconcerting phenomenon at speed around a gradual corner; the front end started to shimmy. I straightened up and it stopped, but I never experienced a...

Re: Finished a Ducati Streetfighter Headlight Mod

True. My job now at Delta gives me access to manufacturing equipment. That is how I plan on bending some stainless steel in order to make a mounting bracket for my Motoscope Pro speedometer.

FREE! Gaskets for 1st Gen Cam Chain Tensioner

I ordered the wrong part, twice, haha. They're cheap so I was just going to throw them away before I thought that someone else might need them. I have 4 of them, (enough for 2 engines). Just pay...

Re: Finished a Ducati Streetfighter Headlight Mod

Honestly, I can't remember. I would guess 20 gauge in plain steel. I plan on remaking it with Stainless Steel later this year. It was the last project that needed to be done to the bike in order to...

Re: Finished a Ducati Streetfighter Headlight Mod

I haven't seen that the headlight touches the fender but I really haven't pushed it super hard like I would on a track. I don't have pics of the adapter plates but I could message you some if you...

Re: FS: Steve's TRE with Switch

I'll take the set of black plastic side covers. The ones that mount close to the tank and seat area. Where do I send the funds?

Re: 180 Rear Wheel NEW Questions

Depending on tire pressure of course, you will have an increase in contact patch surface area with the 180 tire which would aid in maintaining traction with the road while riding over various road...

Re: What if a Cam is one tooth off?

Yeah, I'm using the 2nd Gen Suzuki service manual. Could you explain how to make sure that I am installing them in phase. I want to make sure I understand exactly what you are meaning by in phase.

What if a Cam is one tooth off?

I just bought a used engine on eBay and decided to check the valve clearances. While doing so, I noticed that on my front cylinder, I only count 15 rivets between the intake and exhaust cam #2 and #3...

Re: Anyone else have any mishaps in the past?

Ha, really? It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when. As many people that I know have never crashed, I know just as many that have. Myself? I've totaled 2. Spend good money on gear and then wear...

Re: Installing Overheat LED, what TEMP?

An insert, great idea! I wasn't even aware that they made that sort of thing. I just searched online and found all kinds. Thanks!

EDIT: Which direction does the coolant flow? Is it pushed in...

Re: Installing Overheat LED, what TEMP?

I thought about that but I didn't want the light to come on unless there is actually something wrong. I don't want to get used to it coming on from time to time in stop and go traffic then not...

Re: Installing Overheat LED, what TEMP?

I want things as minimalist as possible. I ended up purchasing a 240 F thermal switch. Now I just need to weld in a threaded bung on my radiator. If the LED lights up, I pull over and shut'er down.

Re: Should I buy a new thermostat?

I think i'll just test the 500 mile thermostat like gh426GH426 suggested. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Installing Overheat LED, what TEMP?

Thanks for the reply GC. I just found where it talks about it in the manual. The warning light doesn't come on until the water temp reaches 248 degrees F. Looks like I'm going to go with a 235 just...

Question Installing Overheat LED, what TEMP?

I'm not running a speedo and don't have any plans to do so. So, I'm installing an LED that will light up if the coolant goes beyond a safe operating temperature. I've read a few posts here and have...

Re: Blew the olí V-twin

Great info, thanks!

So, place the solder around the outer circumference of the top of the piston (or perhaps just across the diameter of the piston), assemble the engine, rotate the engine...

I couldn't tell ya, I haven't been running a speedo on it. That is something that I am planning on adding before riding the bike again. I want to add two small LED lights that can indicate an...

Re: Blew the olí V-twin

I didn't see anything in the manual that talks about this "squish". I understand what it is and why it's important but could you tell me where the 1mm value came from please. And how can this value...

Should I buy a new thermostat?

Long story short, I blew the engine by running it dry of oil. The engine is knocking now. I just put a new thermostat in it about 500 miles prior. I just bought another used engine and was thinking...
