Re: Race slicks

Also heard great things about r11's on the sv from a racer friend, and of his many crashes on the dunlops im on (actually could be an older revision). Next year im going to try bridgestone v02's. I...

Re: Clutch questions

Ive had the level between marks or slightly below, for sure it makes a difference. It could be since the plates were soaked in syn that it could take a while to be sure, so im doing a trackday and...

Re: Clutch questions

Confirmed rotella t6 and t5 cause the clutch to get much heavier at 200f. It must cause the clutch fibers to expand or stick. This is what I noticed on track that made it impossible to downshift....

Re: Clutch questions

Interesting, my clutch doesn't start to release on its own though. The rear wheel doesn't even spin in neutral on the stand with the basket from gen1 so I found some dragging is due to gen2 basket or...

Re: Clutch questions

Clutch enters right side hole. It's normal for the rod to spin with the lever in?

Could be the washer, I did compare the thicknesses. When I swapped just the hub and washer the disengagement...

Re: Clutch questions

Cable goes straight after entering the hole in the frame, left side of the metal throttle cable bracket, under the throttle bodies, arc left.

I swapped to a new clutch adjustment mechanism its...

Re: Clutch questions

Swapped everything again from the gen1, noticed a clunk from the clutch springs the first time I pulled the lever in and once again the clutch was nice and light before startup. It gets a little...

Re: Clutch questions

All stock levers, switched to TWF clutch cable without bends. Not sure if levers would help, might be able to reduce few mm of free play?

It's a track bike with quickshifter, upshift is no problem...

Re: Clutch questions

Ive swapped the bearing a couple times but didn't check if the rod was turning. No change in clutch effort or engagement from that.

One of the 6 times I had it back together but before starting,...

Re: Clutch adjustment

More or less solved the issue. Found out today I could swap from my gen1 to gen2 the basket/discs/hub/spacers/throw out bearing/pressure plate and the rod that pushes it. Allows enough disengagement...

Re: Clutch adjustment

Found a couple interesting things, the basket has play less than 1mm. Between the spacer and shaft. Also some of the springs move freely inside the gear on the back of the basket but ive read this is...

Re: Clutch adjustment

Fredericksburg, as long as it's actually the basket I should get it sorted in time but if not..in the schematic idk what else could possibly cause this. Almost ordered a new clutch pack but I found...

Re: Clutch adjustment

I just had the stack apart and soaked the discs can't be sticking imo. Appreciate the offer, if anything I suspect the basket though. The steels don't hang while the fibers sometimes do. Difficult to...

Re: Clutch adjustment

Think I found something finally! The first friction disc next to the seat seems to stick in the basket when I pull the clutch. 3 tabs of the disc move with the pack while the rest barely move at all....

Re: Clutch adjustment

I don't remember if it spun except w the clutch in. Whatever is going on seems to make the clutch pull harder as well unless the TWF cable routing is off.

Re: Clutch adjustment

With the clutch discs removed, when you push on the hub in neutral it should spin inside the clutch basket.

Re: Clutch adjustment

Anyone know how easily the hub should spin in the basket? I know the washer between them can cause drag but mine seemed to spin ok, but not without some resistance.

Re: Clutch adjustment

Found that by torquing the adjustment screw in as much as I could effectively preloading the shift rod I was able to get an engagement point that may work. Problem is the less you back off the...

Re: Clutch adjustment

I have been setting the screw to nearly touch the rod for troubleshooting, because that should give the earliest disengagement? Anyway the screw doesnt have much effect on engagement point, mainly...

Re: Clutch adjustment
