Re: ***** NEW Official Maryland Thread *****

Mismatched would bug me too. The only specific information I ever saw about not matching was the Metzler Z6 rear needed a Z6 front for proper rain channeling since the rear has limited grooving in...

Re: ***** NEW Official Maryland Thread *****

If you don't get it or get it and don't like it, I'll be happy to take it for around $100.

Even with the modified stock seat riding over an hour straight causes me some discomfort.

Re: First Gen Vs. Second Gen

Can't argue with that. Love the fist gen naked looks better. Most similar to its "inspiration" Ducati Monster.

Visually, I do find the 2nd gen S with full fairing to hide the ugly frame looks...

Re: ***** NEW Official Maryland Thread *****

Slipping the clutch to control engine braking is going to wear the clutch faster and it's pretty sensitive to your hand control. Small slip of the hand and you will end up with a sliding rear.

Re: More than vehicle to worry about when riding your SV

On a serious note. Even if it is legal to physically restrain these kids and they get charged or even found guily. It does not mean the parents won't sue you in civil court and win. US Civil Court...

Re: 1st gen quick turn throttle

Here is a nice write up. http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/sv/R6-throttle.php

part #: 5SL-26240-01-00

It doesn't make it that quick, but it is a good improvement to reach full-throttle without...

Re: Seems The Secret's Out. Here are the Details - SPARTAN LEATHERS

What a strange stingray advocacy off-shoot in that article.

Gloves look great. Any plans for a winter glove? Something with waterproofing and Schoeller PCM insulation would be nice.

Re: ***** NEW Official Maryland Thread *****

So next week I start my new job in Gaithersburg, MD. I'll be commuting in from Alexandria, VA.

I'm probably going to drive for a while to get the feel of things, but I will be needing some warmer...

Re: 1gen starting in cold weather

My SV has a sweet spot with the choke to start easily. Too much or too little and it will die. My early problem was using too much choke.

Yes, I probably need a carb sync.

Re: Suburban Machinery handlebar installation (help me)

I don't really remember what I did when I installed SM1 bars on my 01, but they fit with all the stock cables. I think I pulled the cables off of the levers and rerouted them. The only clearance...

Re: ***** NEW Official Maryland Thread *****

Hmm, that would match my headlight housing. I went fancy and used black gorilla tape.

Found that Lake Shore Harley sells the Buell signals for $12 each so I got a whole new set to break. Hope...

1gen N front right turn signal

Want to buy front turn signals for an 1gen SV650 naked. Only need right, but will take the set.

My housing is shattered, but I still have the lens and bulb holder.

Re: ***** NEW Official Maryland Thread *****

For some reason it drives me crazy when people say they have to. We have free will, she doesn't have to, and knows very well that if you had a badge in your pocket she wouldn't be writing a ticket. ...

Re: ***** NEW Official Maryland Thread *****

Harbor Freight has some for $20 or $10 with a coupon (often in the back of Motorcyclist). I don't vouch for their accuracy, but seems good enough to me for as often as I use it.

I will balance that out by riding in the heat and not doing anything below freezing. I thought you were from Texas? 100 F is nothing.:p

Re: Best insurance Co. for SV650?

You may want to try using a phone. I know, crazy.

State Farm would be cheapest, but refused to insure the bike without a car on the...

I went to 4 different shops before I found one that would pass me and I'm 100% legal. Many shops just make excuses not to inspect bikes (ran out of stickers, saying brakes...

Re: Communism on two wheels

I do, but it's really more for fun than anything.

For the bike, I say no, only because I don't want to pay for it, adjust it, or have to repair it.
