Re: What did you do to your SV today

Sweet! Two legit reports in a row!

Re: What did you do to your SV today

No fancy builds required. Just answer the question "what did you do to your SV today?" That's all; that's been my point and that of a few others this whole time. Riding 10 miles to the grocery...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Are you one of those people that cheats at board games or cards and just laughs at your complaining friends saying, "it's just a game. who cares?" If so, I now "get" you.

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Removed the scissor jack from between the swingarm's legs and struggled yet again to get the GSXR wheel in. The experiment was a failure. Annoying!

It's people like DarkMatter that make me...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

I pulled the GSXR rear wheel with Luis' kit and stuck a scissor jack in between the legs of the swingarm and spread them about 10mm. I'm leaving it that way overnight in hopes to make it remotely...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

We are the roach killer, you are the roach. It's your presence that requires us. If whining from us gets rid of the "I didn't actually do anything to my SV today" posts, it will be worth it.

Go...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Now would be a good time to practice your rotor straightening skills. I've bent a few back from completely unusable to "I feel alright riding this on the track but it's probably not my best idea."

Re: What did you do to your SV today

True. My comment was merely food for thought. However, I don't recall reading anywhere that the TRE mod made any improvement other than reducing backfires on deceleration. Can you direct me?

Re: What did you do to your SV today

It's been my experience when an engine seems to be running smoother it's actually running poorly and sloppy and underpowered. Just food for thought.

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Ziptied the rear brake hose retainer to the master cylinder bracket. I don't know when I lost the bolt that holds it down, but I just noticed it hanging on the inside of the swingarm near the brake...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

It's the same on both sides, isn't it? I think I just use a 15/16".

Re: What did you do to your SV today

You can learn what that amount of torque feels like and get by without a torque wrench. I do it all the time. I'll grab the torque wrench in some cases, though I don't have any hard and fast rules.

Re: What did you do to your SV today

My dad insisted for a long time that vehicle suspension springs never wear out because they're made of a springy metal that always goes back to shape. Metal fatigues and stretches!

Re: What did you do to your SV today

You'll get the hang of it. It's awkward at first, but the rear stand is actually pretty easy. Just don't put the bike up on the front stand without the rear; I did it and I was lucky it didn't fall.

Re: What did you do to your SV today

I'm interested to know what type of riders and bikes have gotten 40k out of a chain. My guess is non-sport riders, probably touring type who rarely get on it hard so the chain doesn't stretch.

I'll tell you what I tell most people about this but without much detail this time: don't be fooled to believe they are remotely functional.

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Several engine manufacturers recommend changing the filter every other change... or they used to. I feel the same way about it as I do about running Rotella - I've been doing it this way on the same...

Re: What did you do to your SV today

Seems cool but it also seems like far more trouble than it's worth. If it's intended to prevent theft, I wonder what the statistics are for bikes being ridden away versus bikes being picked up and...
