Re: Clip on handlebar question

To the OP: Buying this is an almost hassle-free approach. And possibly cheaper than your other option, aftermarket clipons, which still have to be designed to clear the top triple clamp bolts of your...

Re: Stupid Class Idea?

Itīs basically still the same. "Duke battle" and "Street triple cup" to name just two. Didnīt follow it, but the "GSX-R" and "R6" cups are probably still around as well.

The SV Cup (minimal mods...

Re: Next R1 and R6 to be triples

I wouldnīt really call that "simple mathematics", though. :) OTOH, it was a nice play on overmathematizing things.

Re: tough spot

Sounds legit. :)

How far actually? Maybe the old "skateboard under the front wheel and some friends" trick could work. Or just put it in a truck with about 4 guys.

Otherwise: The lock is...

Re: New to me SV

I can relate, considering my other bike (https://www.svrider.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2405377&postcount=7). :)
Have fun with your SV, but Iīd say keep the DR if possible.

Re: Ducati Monster 696/796

Oh, I wouldnīt mind anyway - my SV is mostly ridden over 4000 as well.

OTOH, from female riders I know, even the fast ones tend to be lower in the rev range (Racetrack excluded. :)), so this might...

Re: Ducati Monster 696/796

Donīt be so harsh on yourself.

To be ontopic: The 796 seems the way to go - also according to reports from friends who rode the 1100 Evo and where a bit underwhelmed regarding low rpm performance...

Re: Switching from gt650r....

Fair enough. Your description of the Hyo sounds worse than what the article says, though. IMO, of course.
Not to to mention that specifically this article is over seven years old. The newer Hyosungs...

Re: Electric motorcycle? Don't think so...

If EV transportation grew really big (like more than half the vehicles), how long would anybody expect electricity costs to stay the same? As long itīs just a few enthusiasts itīs easy.
And this is...

Re: Game: Who can find a worst Craiglist motorcycle FS listing?

Considering that Iīve been snottily schooled a long time ago that "nearly all drag-racing in the US" is bracket racing and so absolute power doesnīt matter (and I donīt have a clue anyway) several...

Re: Hit a pothole, clutch screwed up, tried to adjust, now broken...

Yes. Itīs not that uncommon. Your dealer will happily sell you a new one. :)

The adjuster canīt really take side load, which is usually itroduced via the steel bend right behind it. Turning it...

Re: gen 1 quick action throtle

I bought the BRG Kit (http://www.brgracing.com/throttle.html) back when they were 25$. It needs less rotation than an R6 throttle (we have both at home). Expensive for being a rather simple plastic...
