Locked keys under rear seat!
Is there anyway to access the rear compartment without a key? I have no spare and money is tight right now. At least I got home and wasn’t on the road but I have to ride my bike tomorrow. Please help!

By the way it’s a 2008 naked. I feel like such an idiot right now. I bought the bike with only one key and am really regretting putting off getting a spare key made.

Re: Locked keys under rear seat!
depending on where the key is in the back, you could try and take off the seat with allen wrench as you remove the side plastic underneath and you might be able to either snake something trough and possibly pull a key trough. I installed a fender eliminator on my '03, but think had to be in the trunk to remove any of that. Best of luck!

Re: Locked keys under rear seat!
Yes, pull off the front seat, you can get into the rear compartment enough to fish something small out.

I just tried removing driver seat. Found a stripped bolt holding seat. So frustrated right now. I’ve been trying to pick lock to no avail

Re: Locked keys under rear seat!
You can probably get it to unlatch with a thin shim...the lock turns a cable, which releases the seat latch.

Thanks. Could you elaborate a bit? Where would I use shin? Where is the cable?

Re: Locked keys under rear seat!
Looking closely at the lock system, there aren't many options.

What comes to mind is using a coat hanger with a tight hook (maybe a small 90 degree bend would be best) on the end. Go under the seat through the front part of the opening on the left side of the tail where the helmet hook is. Try to catch the round part of the latch where the cable end is and pull towards you.

Here's an ebay photo of the latch so you can see what you are trying to do - You want to grab the round part and pull towards you to release the latch.

Had locksmith pick it. Thanks everyone

Re: Locked keys under rear seat!
If anyone wants to try picking it themselves, I believe it's a shortened version of the main lock with fewer wafers.
